Job overview
This is a fixed term post to work as a senior research associate to plan, undertake and analyse qualitative research interviews assessing the acceptability of the FAST MRI intervention, conducted as part of the FAST MRI: DYAMOND study. Under the supervision of senior colleagues, the post holder will ensure the research is delivered in line with agreed targets and will supervise new members of the team where required. The post holder is expected to work with the wider DYAMOND study team to contribute to data analysis and interpretation, writing of papers, development of the impact pathway and contributing to new grant applications where relevant to the qualitative research findings.
The post will be offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months at 1 day a week (0.2WTE).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the recruitment of qualitative research participants following their research imaging. They will receive and document the participant's informed consent to be interviewed and conduct research interviews in accordance with the study protocol.
The post holder will supervise a study administrator (recruitment pending) to accurately transcribe recorded interviews in readiness for analysis.
Working with the Lead Qualitative Researcher, the post holder will analyse and report on the study findings and generate manuscripts for publications. They will also advise on future Grant applications where required, in relation to the study findings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsibilities of the post include (but not limited to):
Interpret findings of qualitative interviews for which he/she is responsible, recording results and taking appropriate corrective action when unexpected findings are obtained.
Ensure appropriate training and documentation of training for all staff involved in qualitative research
To act as the first point of contact for potential volunteers, recording pre-screening information, informed consent and demographics information by telephone, and maintain a database of participants having regard to the data protection act.
Act in the best interests of the research subjects to ensure their rights are upheld.
Ensure protocol amendments are incorporated into research practice
Observes the confidentiality of patient information at all times, in accordance with data Protection Act and Caldicott regulations.
Manage the conflicting demands of working on multiple research projects.
Assist in the induction and training of new research staff working on the projects in the Researchers portfolio
Ensure all data clarification issues are resolved quickly.
