Description
The Junior Editing Media Manager will assist in the smooth operation of the ITV News media management workflow, supporting the editing and delivery of high-quality news and programme content under tight deadlines. This entry-level role focuses on learning and contributing to media management, newsroom editing, and content preparation in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
1. Support media management tasks, including ingesting video, audio, and graphics into the AVID system
2. Assist with basic editing of pictures and sound to create clear, accurate packages for transmission
3. Help prepare and organise material for edits, ensuring relevant content is available for production teams
4. Carry out quality checks on packages for video and audio issues, escalating problems when necessary
5. Communicate effectively with studio and newsroom teams during live broadcasts
6. Learn and apply established workflows for media deletion and content protection
7. Collaborate with producers, correspondents, and editors to meet deadlines and maintain editorial standards
8. Gain proficiency in ITN’s digital editing systems (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro) and newsroom tools (iNews, Wolftech)
9. Provide general technical support to production teams under supervision
10. Work flexibly across shifts, including nights, to meet the demands of a live news environment

11. Build skills in editing creative, high-quality reports and packages
12. Learn compliance requirements and how to flag potential issues
13. Develop understanding of ITV News digital workflows and post-production systems
14. Receive training on advanced editing tools and techniques, with opportunities to shadow senior editors
