Director of Inclusion – Rainhill High School
Rainhill High School is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our strategic approach to SEND, disadvantage, and targeted support, ensuring every student can learn, think, contribute, and care. This senior leadership role will close the gap for our most vulnerable learners and embed inclusion across the school’s Quality of Education.
Key responsibilities: The successful candidate will serve as the strategic lead for inclusion, overseeing the Team Around the Child which includes the SENCo function, Safeguarding and specialised support staff. Duties include meeting statutory requirements, optimising resources for pupil progress, partnering with the Assistant Principal to operationalise the Pupil Premium strategy, co‑producing inclusive strategies with parents, carers and external partners, and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to identify emerging needs such as SEMH or EBSA.
Candidate profile:
* Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the Equality Act, with the ability to translate complex needs into actionable classroom strategies.
* Experience working in partnership with senior leadership to operationalise pupil premium interventions.
* Expertise in co‑production, building powerful relationships with parents, carers and external partners to keep students’ aspirations at the heart of decision‑making.
* Analytical skill to use quantitative and qualitative data to identify emerging needs, such as SEMH or EBSA, quickly and accurately.
* Passion for developing others, driving improvement and making a lasting difference ensuring every student feels they belong.
