We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Academic Administration Manager — one of three new roles within our Academic Administration team at the University of Oxford's Faculty of History, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Oxford OX2 6AH. This expansion reflects a strategic development and our ongoing commitment to excellence, innovation and providing outstanding support to our academic community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting both students and academics, helping to shape the future of academic administration within the Faculty of History.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the course administration for all graduate and undergraduate programmes.
* Work with the Education Manager and line-manage the Undergraduate Officer, Taught Postgraduate Degrees Officer and Research Degrees Officer.
* Support students and academic staff in the Faculty of History.
* Provide strategic high-level advice together with practical, day-to-day operational activities.
* Lead the formation of a new team and work onsite three days a week (Monday to Wednesday).
* Work hours: 09:00-17:00 or 10:00-18:00.
Qualifications
* Honours degree or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of very strong intellectual and analytical skills.
* Significant academic administrative and student-facing experience in a higher education institution, across both undergraduate and graduate students.
* Experience of line-managing a multi-disciplinary team, developing staff and delegating effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information and procedures effectively and persuasively at all levels within and outside the University, including students and academic staff.
* Experience servicing committees and student management systems (e.g., eVision) is desirable.
