Audit Senior (Newcastle)
We are looking for an Audit Senior to join our team in Newcastle. The role is responsible for managing day‑to‑day audit work, flagging issues, training assistants, ensuring deadlines and budgets, and presenting a substantially complete audit file for review.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing day‑to‑day audit work and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
* Flagging issues and concerns to the Audit team at an early stage.
* Training and debriefing Audit Assistants, providing formal feedback.
* Completing audit planning documentation and arranging the timing of audit work with the Audit Manager.
* Liaising with client staff on premises and building effective relationships.
* Monitoring budgeted versus actual time spent, flagging scope issues, on‑site issues and overruns to the Audit Manager.
* Keeping client staff informed of progress while maintaining confidentiality.
* Auditing draft tax computations and tax provisions with supporting schedules, coordinating with tax staff for reviews.
* Preparing draft financial statements to a reasonable standard, free from quality control issues.
Qualifications & Experience
* ICAEW / ICAS / ACCA part‑qualified or fully‑qualified.
* Leadership in work and professional learning.
* Excellent communication skills, able to positively influence others.
* Relevant experience in a similar audit role (preferred).
* Strong organisational skills and proactive approach.
* Right to work in the UK permanently and without restrictions.
