An established managed IT support provider is seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join their team. They support small, medium, and enterprise businesses across the UK with a wide range of services including IT Help Desk support, cloud infrastructure, networking, and cloud applications such as Microsoft 365 and AWS.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line technical support via phone, email, and live chat.
Maintain a high degree of customer service and follow service management best practices.
Take ownership of user issues and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Log all calls and issues accurately in the ticketing system.
Assist clients with resolving network, server, hardware, and software issues.
Maintain logs of calls taken and any software or hardware faults identified.
Support users with computer equipment through training and clear guidance.
Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical team members when necessary.
Arrange external technical support where required by liaising with internal admin teams.
Personal Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Logical thinker with strong troubleshooting abilities.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Ideally 5 GCSEs (C/4 or above), including Maths and English.
Technical Skills (Desirable) Microsoft Windows Server (2008+).
Microsoft Windows desktop OS (7+).
Microsoft Office suite (2007+).
Knowledge of VoIP systems, SIP trunks, provisioning, and troubleshooting.
Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Exchange Server and Microsoft 365 administration.
Networking and switch configuration, including VLANs, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience or interest in VMware and Hyper-V configuration/management.
LAN/WAN technologies, including router and firewall configuration.
Microsoft 365 configuration, migration, and management (SharePoint, OneDrive, email).
Progression & Training As you advance through the apprenticeship, you will have opportunities to gain further qualifications from industry vendors and progress to Level 5 and Level 6 (degree-level) apprenticeships.
