Dudley Council is seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join their dedicated team. The Family Safeguarding Model is at the heart of Dudley’s approach, with a strong focus on partnership working, keeping families together where safe to do so, and delivering high-quality, child-focused interventions. Responsibilities As a Family Safeguarding Social Worker, you will: Manage a caseload of children and families subject to child protection, child in need, and care proceedings. Undertake assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote positive change and improve outcomes. Work within the Family Safeguarding Model, collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary partners such as domestic abuse specialists, mental health workers, and substance misuse practitioners. Attend and contribute to statutory meetings including case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings. Ensure that all work is completed in line with statutory requirements, council policies, and best practice standards. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records. Requirements We are looking for a professional who can bring: Social Work England registration and a recognised social work qualification. Proven experience in safeguarding and statutory children’s social work, including court work. Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills. A commitment to working in partnership with families, placing the child at the centre of all practice. Excellent communication, resilience, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
