We are currently seeking a Fencing Operative to join our Environmental Services team in Halifax. In this role you’ll play a vital role in enhancing our community's outdoor spaces. In this hands-on position, you’ll implement fencing improvement programs, manage repairs, and support the installation of new fencing.

Requirements
Outline of Key responsibilities for the Fencing Operative…
* To carry out all Installations, repairs, and the maintaining of fences on our properties.
* Prepare and clean the work area before and after completing tasks.
* Handle and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Ensure all operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
* To help the Supervisor organize work, order materials, and ensure projects are completed on time and maintain quality.
* To supervise and train Trainees and Apprentices, ensuring their safety and service standards are met.
* To always follow good health and safety and equal opportunities practices and understand all Risk Assessments for tasks.
* Providing high quality customer service to all volunteers/placements, trainees, and apprentices and customers
* To support various departments as directed, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
We are looking for someone who has…
* Experience in fencing installation, or repairs and maintenance
* Full manual UK driving Licence
* Knowledge of different types of fencing materials and construction techniques.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and time management skills.
* Excellent customer service skills

* Starting salary: £25,748 per annum
* 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays
