The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Platform & Security, you will lead efforts to enhance our security and compliance, and build infrastructure for our cell manufacturing platform. Our systems are already SOC 2 Type 2 audited; as we move into GMP environments, our technology must meet stricter standards.
Your responsibilities include designing infrastructure, processes, and features to support regulated cell therapy manufacturing, ensuring security, compliance, and reliability while maintaining agility.
What you'll do
* Build and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on-premise hardware
* Communicate our security and compliance approach to customers’ executive and security teams
* Lead our information security program (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and facilitate GMP integration
* Develop automated testing and validation strategies
* Streamline deployment processes for rapid development and stable manufacturing environments
* Implement security practices such as code scanning, access controls, and audit logging
* Build core features like electronic signatures, audit logs, and data traceability based on user research
* Collaborate on developing a Quality Management System aligned with regulations
* Improve system reliability, database performance, API security, and distributed system design
* Mentor team members on security and quality best practices
Must-haves
* Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps (preferably AWS)
* Knowledge of security controls and compliance frameworks
* Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps
* Strong understanding of APIs, databases, networks, and distributed systems
* Experience with CI/CD and automated testing
* Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js in production
* Understanding of security principles in production systems
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Additional areas of expertise
* Experience with ISO 27001, ISO 9001, SOC 2, or similar
* Background in regulated industries like healthcare or finance
* Lifecycle management experience
* Experience with automated quality checks and validation frameworks
Nice-to-haves
* Knowledge of standards like GAMP 5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+
* Experience with GMP, HIPAA, or similar environments
* Hardware-software integration knowledge
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
* Python experience for tooling or data processing
* Background in manufacturing or lab automation
* Database performance tuning
