The Role

lowRISC has recently enjoyed major success with the release of the collaboratively developed OpenTitan Earl Grey top level design which has been taped out and put into production by Nuvoton for Google. OpenTitan is the world’s first open-source silicon root of trust. lowRISC has also been working hard on other projects relating to CHERI technology and its deployment into the wider market, successfully working with both Microsoft (CHERIoT-Ibex) and UKRI (Sunburst Project) and also helping found the CHERI Alliance.

Over the past decade lowRISC has:

* demonstrated its ability to collaboratively design, verify and support the release of working silicon to commercial standards, first time, with partners and the wider community, all in the open;
* Demonstrated its strong credentials in chip level security, countermeasures and certification
* proven its versatility to work in other application areas and with other technologies.

Now lowRISC is stepping up its investment in marketing to improve our visibility in the industry and to attract more users to OpenTitan, our Ibex processor and the CHERI security extensions to the RISC-V architecture implemented in CHERIoT-Ibex.

This is an opportunity to help fundamentally change the industry by driving the adoption of open-source silicon designs and methodologies on a global scale.

To that end lowRISC is looking for a Junior Product Marketing Manager whose main tasks are to:

* plan, create and deliver technical marketing collateral that showcases lowRISC’s open source designs and products via: technical articles, presentations and webpages, demos and white papers, handouts for conferences and events
* engage with developers and engineers to promote lowRISC, its designs and products through events, meet-ups and social media
* learn about silicon development, verification, open-source development processes and security features from people with long experience in technical marketing and product management roles.

Role Requirements

lowRISC are looking for a technical person with a relevant degree (e.g. engineering, computer science, maths or physics) and at least 2 years of experience in a related industry in a technical role or a technically focused marketing role. We will also consider applicants without a degree if you can show relevant experience in technical roles in a related industry.

Essential Skills

You must be able to demonstrate:

* the ability to understand the needs of the different types of audiences targeted by lowRISC
* the ability to understand, clearly explain and describe highly technical concepts in both written and presentation formats
* a passion for communication, using the latest technologies and platforms
* excellent presentation skills
* a friendly and engaging attitude

Desirable Skills

Ideally, you should also be able to demonstrate the following, but if not, lowRISC will provide suitable training to develop these skills over time:

* creating modern visually attractive web content along with organising and publishing it
* putting together demonstrations for events and conferences, which showcase lowRISC’s technology

Salary and Benefits

This is a full time role (lowRISC will also consider a minimum of 3 days per week part time) with a starting salary of £38-66k (pro rata) depending on experience. Benefits include a generous employer pension contribution (up to 12.5% subject to an employee contribution via salary sacrifice of 6%), holiday allowance (33 days including public holidays), private medical insurance, group income protection, life insurance and a 4 week paid sabbatical after 4 years of service. You will join us at our offices in the centre of Cambridge.
