Job Description Salary £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience As a Materials Manager within the Spectroscopy Products Division, you will collaborate closely with internal suppliers, production teams, and other departments to optimise inventory levels and streamline supply chain processes. Your goal is to ensure on-time delivery of SPD products while maintaining desired quality levels and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Materials Management Develop, implement, and adhere to monthly production plans, ensuring clear communication of requirements to all staff. Uphold Quality Assurance standards at all times, working with Production Engineering to investigate and address product or process non-compliance. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Manage and maintain the SyteLine manufacturing system in alignment with sales forecasts and stock policy requirements. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production demands while minimising costs. Ensure Perpetual Inventory Count (PIC) accuracy is maintained. Oversee the implementation of design changes, minimising obsolescence costs. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure new products and processes meet assembly requirements. Lead waste control activities, ensuring waste segregation for recycling and adherence to departmental targets. Report monthly on departmental performance, including successes, shortfalls, and progress towards Key Result Areas (KRAs). People Management Manage the Materials Control and Stores teams. Regularly review employee performance to maintain alignment with departmental requirements, including maintaining staff training plans and objectives. Provide opportunities for staff to enhance their knowledge and capabilities, promoting flexibility within the department. Foster a quality culture within the department, continuously seeking process improvements and eliminating potential quality concerns. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, conducting Risk Assessment inspections and implementing necessary remedial actions. Requirements Degree in a relevant engineering, science, or mathematical discipline. Proven personnel management skills with at least three years of experience in a high complexity, high variety manufacturing environment. Proficient in inventory management software and ERP/MRP systems, particularly SyteLine. Additional training will be provided. Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective communication skills at all levels. Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver. Full driving license, with travel between Renishaw sites required.
