West Sussex Alternative Provision College (WSAPC) is an educational establishment based across the county on seven separate sites, providing education for pupils whom are permanently excluded, at risk of exclusion or too ill to attend school. Work Experience and Vocational Pathway Manager
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential beyond the classroom? WSAPC is looking for a Work Experience and Vocational Pathway Manager to lead and manage high-quality work experience placements and vocational opportunities for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Not only will you be responsible for the management and co-ordination of high-quality work experience opportunities you will also take a lead in providing pastoral support and mentoring contributing to wider pupil welfare and development of Young People following the vocational pathway.
Job Details
What you'll Do:
Coordinate and manage meaningful work experience placements for Year 11 and vocational pathway students.
Lead on employer engagement, placement risk assessments, safeguarding checks, and H&S compliance.
Provide one-to-one mentoring and pastoral support to help students overcome barriers to learning and attendance
Work closely with staff, employers, and families to ensure positive and safe learning experiences.
Provide 1:1 support, behaviour interventions, mentoring and coaching support to young people
Provide attendance support and monitoring, transition planning and Post 16 routes for pupils.
What You Need to Succeed
What We're Looking For:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), plus GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above).
Experience working with young people and families in challenging circumstances.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, H&S, and risk assessment procedures.
Confident communicator and relationship builder with students, employers, and colleagues.
Ability to manage a busy, varied workload with professionalism and compassion.
Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
