We are looking to strengthen our Operations team with a Programme Manager based at Hampton, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager, overseeing, leading, and supporting a program of work that includes Project Managers and Site Managers. Your role will involve supporting the design phase, managing construction and commissioning phases, setting up contracts, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, to specifications, within time and budget, and with a focus on health and safety and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for overall project performance, including contract staffing, supporting hand-over from design to delivery, and setting contract strategy.
* Possessing detailed knowledge and experience of project management from conception to end-user acceptance.
* Overseeing health & safety and reporting in monthly project management meetings.
* Providing support, advice, and guidance to Construction and Delivery Leads, assisting with problem-solving.
* Staff training and development responsibilities.
* Maintaining client relations, resolving issues, and developing further business opportunities.
* Promoting safety and quality standards among the workforce.
* Maintaining good relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers to uphold the company's reputation.
* Collaborating with the Design Manager to conduct technical, safety, and environmental reviews for projects.
* Ensuring adequate trained personnel are available and aware of their responsibilities.
* Ensuring construction and delivery plans are reviewed and approved for safety and quality.
* Producing work procedures to assist quality control.
* Reporting site non-conformities and estimating associated costs.
* Managing project commercial aspects proactively with accurate forecasts.
* Implementing quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
* Satisfying customer requirements to enhance satisfaction.
* Maintaining technical knowledge relevant to water and wastewater projects.
* Adopting a positive, solution-oriented work approach and providing honest feedback.
* Undertaking other duties as required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
* Presenting a professional image and fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Project management experience across various project sizes and complexities.
* Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
* APMP or equivalent certification.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with clients and end-users.
* Delivery-driven with target-setting and team motivation skills.
* Extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
* Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
* Proficiency in Primavera or Power Project.
* Chartered or near-chartered in a construction discipline.
* Working knowledge of construction health & safety.
