What is the opportunity?
The role is part of Business and Client Services Europe, supporting pre and post trade deal processing for the RBC Capital Markets securities trading business and its clients.
The role is to manage a team, ensuring that trades are captured, matched for settlement, funded and reconciled as well as covering post trade processes.
The operations role is a first line of defense to the business, ensures accurate books and records are maintained whilst providing a seamless client experience.
This role has a hybrid working pattern where the expectation is to attend the office 4 days a week with 1 day per week from home.
What will you do?
* Securities settlements processing, controls
* Risk management, with a mindset of enhancing existing control infrastructure
* Oversight of all KRIs / KPIs, escalating risk appropriately
* Ensure controls are completed on a daily basis
* Team/people management, upholding RBC’s culture
* Work in collaboration with the business and all supporting functions
* Attestation.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
* Should have solid people management experience
* Understand Equities, Fixed Income, and basic trading strategies
* Strong Risk and Control background
* Good knowledge of market infrastructure such as Settlement Agents, Nostro Agents and Clearing
* Previous proven experience of developing STP solutions
* A good understanding of cash & position reconciliations.
Nice-to-have
* Working knowledge of systems such as EASYWAY, CREST, GLOSS, and full suite of Microsoft applications
* Previous accounting background.
