Lead Project Engineer – Contract Opportunity
📍 Location: Central Belt, Scotland (Hybrid Working)
🕒 Start Date: ASAP
📅 Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
💰 Rate: £750–£800 per day (Inside IR35 via PAYE Umbrella)
⏳ Working Week: 37 hours

About the Role
We’re looking for a Lead Project Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme delivering projects valued between £10m and £1bn. This is a leadership role without direct reports – perfect for someone who thrives on coordination, ownership, and driving delivery across multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and coordination across engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
* Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and communities to support sustainable outcomes.
* Identify and mitigate engineering design risks during pre-construction and construction phases.
* Prepare and coordinate design assurance reviews and key project documentation.
* Drive design maturity and ensure scope is delivered to quality, programme, and governance standards.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in project development within Transmission or similar industries, including optioneering and initial design phases.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver optimum solutions within tight timescales.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, Health and Safety legislation, and environmental compliance.
* Strong problem-solving skills and resilience to address critical project matters.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritise and make key decisions.
