System Analyst - IDOX and Print
About the role
At Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, we put our community first. Our IT & Digital Transformation team plays a key role in enabling efficient, modern and secure digital services for residents, partners and colleagues.
We are now seeking a skilled and motivated System Analyst to support and develop the council’s IDOX suite of applications (including Uniform, TLC, Portals and EDRMS), alongside responsibility for our corporate print systems, including Planet Press.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys system problem solving, improving digital processes, working collaboratively with services and supporting the delivery of high-quality, reliable technology across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
As our System Analyst (IDOX and Print), you will:
1. Provide customer-focused support to users of the IDOX suite of applications, Planet Press and associated systems, ensuring all incidents, requests and changes are handled in line with ITIL best practice.
2. Maintain, secure and develop the IDOX suite of applications used by the council’s regulatory services and its integrations, ensuring systems are compliant, patched and operating effectively.
3. Assist service areas with transforming their printing requirements and supporting the transition of business print activities to the print room using Planet Press.
4. Work closely with services, attending meetings to understand upcoming work, projects or changes that require IT input.
5. Co-ordinate and manage system upgrades, patches and testing, ensuring smooth and well-documented change processes.
6. Produce and maintain clear documentation, supporting first-time fix capability and promoting digital self-service.
7. Provide training, run workshops, produce technical and statistical reports, and act as a key contact for third‑party suppliers.
8. Contribute to wider digital development, supporting project delivery and continuous improvement across the council’s technology estate.
About you
We’re looking for someone who has:
Essential experience and skills
9. Experience working in IT as an administrator or in a service desk environment.
10. A proven track record of working with Microsoft technologies.
11. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
12. Excellent planning, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
13. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
14. High computer literacy and confidence with Microsoft desktop applications.
