A great opportunity exists to join our well-established kitchen in Bath providing a high standard of plant-based food. We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, proactive and reliable person to join our team. Our menu is entirely plant-based so knowledge of vegan cuisine is preferable but not essential.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are upheld. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment, whether in catering, restaurants, or other food service settings.
Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
* Help in the assembly of meals and catering orders as required.
* Support chefs and cooks during busy service periods by providing timely assistance.
* Participate in stock management by helping to receive deliveries and store food items appropriately.
* Assist in maintaining inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
* Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is preferred.
* A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills are highly valued.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Our position is for approximately 25 hours per week but this could be topped up with Front of House duties if you were looking for something full time. This role also may lead to a full time position.
