The Front Door Architect acts as the first point of architectural engagement for incoming projects with Digital requirements.
They provide initial design guidance, shape early ideas, and ensure proposals align with architectural standards and strategic direction.
The role requires strong communication skills to work confidently with senior military stakeholders, the ability to translate project intent into an initial architectural approach, and the judgement to advise when ideas need adaptation.
Modelling skills are useful but not essential, as the focus is on leadership, stakeholder engagement and architectural coherence.

Extensive understanding and practical experience of leading multi-discipline teams to deliver highly complex technology services.
Knowledge and experience of applying best practice for handling personal data (e.g., GDPR).
Knowledge and experience of applying best practice for solution security (e.g., OWASP, NCSC cloud security principles).
Knowledge and experience of applying best practice within one or more specialist architecture domains.

Desirable Skills
Experience of working in secure customer environments.
Experience of common Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.

Industry recognised Technical Qualifications (e.g., Microsoft certifications, Amazon certifications and similar).
