About the Practice
A well‑established and growing accountancy firm with a strong track record of organic growth is seeking to expand its team. With ambitious plans to acquire additional firms in the North, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business entering a new phase of development.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant who has 7‑10 years of experience to support the continued growth of the practice. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone with a strong practice background who can hit the ground running and take ownership of a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
* Preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns
* Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Liaising directly with clients, providing advice and maintaining strong relationships
* Assisting with onboarding new clients and integrating acquisitions
* Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Skills & Qualifications required
* ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
* Proven experience working within an accountancy practice environment is essential
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and tax compliance
* Proficiency in cloud‑based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent
* Full UK Vehicle License
* Excellent client‑facing and communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
* Experience reviewing junior staff work and providing constructive feedback
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
