We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's finance team as an Assistant Receivable’s Officer. The role: We are seeking a full time Assistant Receivables Officer to join our finance team. The role supports our Senior Receivables Officer in the day-to-day operation and administration of the receivable’s functions, ensuring timely transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and met audit requirements. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Downloading and reconciling daily bank statements and card payment files Processing cheque and cash receipts Preparing banking for collection Maintaining our sales ledger by preparing and importing invoice requests and checking VAT accuracy Completing cash journals across service areas Managing purchasing card expenditure. Monitor the shared mailboxes by responding to queries about sales invoices and cashiering and support general team administration such as distributing post. What you will need: Previous transactional services experience working within an operational Finance Team is desirable, along with a good working knowledge of VAT. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team. Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads will support success in this position. Applicants should have 4 GCSEs at grades A–C (or equivalent), including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate strong numeracy and literacy through experience. Business related qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2, are desirable but not essential.
