The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Health and Safety Project Specialist who will provide general and specialist health and safety support and advice to the business, and discharge key health and safety roles including but not limited to CDM Principal Designer, CDM Advisor, and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead, on a range of projects.
The Senior Health and Safety Project Specialist will play a pivotal part in shaping health and safety practices across major projects, from the initial bidding phase through to delivery to ensure H&S needs are fully integrated. Your expertise will guide teams in addressing design and project-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the CDM Regulations, the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
You will also establish H&S competency frameworks, deliver specialised training, and lead the investigation of serious incidents to drive continuous improvement. Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people who:
1. Have relevant industry experience and technical expertise in Construction, Built Environment and/or Infrastructure development within a business support environment, and are able to demonstrate relevant Competence (Skills, Knowledge, Attitude, Training, Experience and Behaviours).
2. Have expertise in delivery of a broad range of CDM/H&S related advice with substantial design risk experience in construction and infrastructure-related disciplines.
3. Have knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001, BS 8670 and associated standards and PAS.
4. Are chartered professional, or seeking chartered status (e.g., CMIOSH, CMaPS or chartered engineer).
5. NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or Health and Safety Management.
