Senior Information Analyst – Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Band: 6 – £39,959 to £48,117 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Hours: 37.5 per week; flexible working considered. Hybrid working arrangement.
Position summary: The Senior Information Analyst reports to the Systems Manager and is responsible for monitoring contract monitoring system feeds, ensuring accurate reporting, assisting with Clinical Data Sets submissions to SUS, responding to monthly challenges, and developing contract income reports. Sponsorship is not offered.
Responsibilities
* Monitor daily feeds into SLAM and respond to issues
* Prepare internal monthly income monitoring reports
* Prepare and submit external monthly Service Level Agreement (SLA) income monitoring reports
* Monitor weekly SUS Clinical Data Set (CDS) submissions and take corrective action
* Reconcile activity between various reporting systems locally and nationally (e.g. HES, SUS, SLAM)
* Prepare monthly long waiters report
* Prepare Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) report for Private Patient Officer and submit upon ratification
* Represent Finance in Joint Finance Information Group meetings with the ICB
* Assist in improving the SLAM system and related processes
* Assist in implementing improvements to the Power BI reporting platform
* Prepare Income and activity Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and submit responses to the Deputy Financial Controller
* Support the Any Other Business (AOB) process as required
* Comply with budgetary control best practice and Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions
* Provide support to the Patient Level Information Costing System (PLICS) and costing team as needed
* Work autonomously, using initiative for operational decisions
* Provide technical advice related to activity with income
* Maintain comprehensive procedure notes for all work performed
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Degree level education in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
Experience
* Experience with Secondary Uses Service (SUS)/Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) Acute datasets
* Acute NHS income reporting experience
* Proven experience within the NHS financial environment
* Knowledge of the NHS National Tariff
* Experience implementing an Acute NHS planning/contracting round
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL Server Management Studio, and SQL Server Integration Services
* Knowledge of CIVICA SLAM
* Numeracy and ability to analyse and interpret complex data accurately
* Ability to anticipate problems and provide workable solutions
* Experience using Power BI reporting suite
* Knowledge of Visual Basics
