Your new role
The Facilities Engineer provides strategic and operational oversight of all site facilities and infrastructure. The role ensures regulatorypliance, supports efficient production, and maintains a safe, clean, and productive environment. Key duties include managing a three-year rolling facilities plan, overseeing daily operations, leading support staff, coordinating vendors, and delivering capital projects to improve performance and reduce downtime.
1. Develop and maintain a strategic 3-year rolling facilities plan aligned with operational goals.
2. Lead capital planning, including budgeting, justification, and delivery of upgrades and expansions.
3. Manage vendor relationships—procurement, contracts, performance, andpliance.
4. Oversee daily facility operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatorypliance.
5. Support business functions by minimising downtime and enabling continuous manufacturing.
6. Ensure all facilities meet strict safety, security, and environmental standards.
7. Support training and development of facilities and maintenance teams, promoting continuous improvement.
8. Monitor and control operating costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
9. Implement preventive maintenance and emergency response plans.
10. Liaise with regulators and internal stakeholders to maintainpliance.
11. Report regularly on facility status, capital projects, and budgets to senior leadership.
12. Conduct inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
13. Plan and manage facility upgrades and capital improvements for advanced manufacturing.
14. Champion a ‘world-class’ facilities vision across the site.
15. Enhance and develop the CMMS to drive performance improvements.
16. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leading problem-solving initiatives.
17. Prepare RFQs, conduct contract reviews, and manage risk.
18. Oversee contractor processes, including documentation, RAMS, and permits.
19. Develop and implement HSEpliant processes aligned with best practice and guidance standards.
What you'll need to succeed
20. HND / HNC in relevant discipline (or equivalent)
21. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, LOTO, PUWER,etc
22. Occupational Health and Safety Certifications (, NEBOSH, OSHA)
23. History of delivery Capital Expenditure programmes
24. Practical knowledge of working with and developingputerised Maintenance Management systems (CMMS)
25. Practical knowledge of what constitutes safe contractor control
Desirable Requirements (training available)
26. Candidates should be from a background of either a time served multiskilled Engineer or Engineering / Maintenance supervision
27. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) — by IFMA
28. Knowledge of Agility (CMMS) advantageous
29. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2
30. LEAN or Six Sigma Certification
31. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) ISO5001
32. Knowledge of Project Management Tools (, Microsoft Project)
33. Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) / Building Automation Systems (BAS)
34. CAD exposure
