The project
Our client is the utilities provider in the South‑East geographic area. Their purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long‑term value for all.
Responsibilities
* Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk reporting framework, covering operational, strategic, and retained risks.
* Support the Risk Team in ensuring risk and opportunity management processes are implemented and adhered to across the project.
* Provide timely and high‑quality information, guidance, and specialist advice on risk management to project stakeholders.
* Monitor and report on risk factors throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
* Facilitate risk workshops to enhance risk awareness and management practices among project team members.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards related to risk management.
* Continuously improve risk management processes to ensure they are practical, embedded, and connected to all key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent application of risk management practices.
* Undertaking such tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned.
Qualifications
* Minimum degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area e.g., Project Management, Business Administration etc.
* Professional qualifications/memberships are desired in relevant subject area e.g., APM PMQ.
* 2‑5 years’ experience in risk management in high‑value water projects or projects of a similar scale/complexity.
* Tangible experience of designing and implementing risk management frameworks within a PMO function.
* Knowledge of risk management principles, methods, techniques, systems and toolkits.
* Understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
* Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
