* Providing a mix of face to face and remote consultations
* Triaging inbound clinical requests
* Delivering 15 minute appointments
* Undertaking associated clinical administration (with strong admin support)
* Participating in on call duties as part of a fair and supportive rota

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
The postholder will provide a mix of clinical services in line with the practice rota, including:
Face to face consultations
Telephone and online consultations
Home visits where clinically appropriate
Reviewing and actioning pathology results
Completing referrals and clinical correspondence
Undertaking medical reports and examinations as required
Appointments are routinely 15 minutes, with protected time for clinical administration.
The GP will:
Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex conditions
Provide evidence based, holistic care
Offer lifestyle and preventative health advice
Support patients referred by nursing and allied health professionals
Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
Prescribe in accordance with local and national guidelines
Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activity
Duty Doctor Responsibilities
* As part of the Duty Doctor rota, the postholder will:
* Manage urgent, on the day patient demand
* Provide clinical oversight to the wider team
* Support triage processes
* Ensure safe and effective care pathways for same day presentations
Duty sessions are supported by a strong MDT, including ANPs, ACPs, pharmacists, and experienced administrators.
Practice Responsibilities
* Work closely with GPs, GP trainees, ANPs, ACPs, pharmacists, nurses, HCAs, and administrative teams
* Participate in weekly clinical meetings
Contribute to case discussions, shared learning, and service development
Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues when required
Education, Training & Development
Ossett Surgery is a training practice and actively supports professional development. The postholder will:
Engage in CPD and maintain a Personal Development Plan

Participate in teaching of medical students, trainees, or other learners (if desired)

Contribute to the delivery of QOF, IIF, and locally commissioned services
Support chronic disease management and population health initiatives
Participate in audits, data quality improvement, and clinical governance
Governance & Compliance
Adhere to practice policies on confidentiality, safeguarding, prescribing, infection control, and data protection
Report clinical and non clinical risks appropriately
Maintain compliance with GMC, CQC, and NHS England standards
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP
* GMC registration with licence to practise
Experience
* Experience using SystmOne
* Experience of additional clinical or educational leadership
