Job Description:
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Operational Risk and Financial Crime to join Castle Trust Bank. We are a fintech challenger bank offering property mortgages, retail finance lending, and savings accounts.
As part of our Compliance team, you will manage the second line operational risk and financial crime team, overseeing operational risk, data protection, and financial crime compliance across the bank.
You will support non-financial risk management, particularly focusing on the newly established 1st line Financial Crime Operations team, and assist the Chief Compliance Officer in risk strategy and fostering a strong risk culture.
In this role, you will serve as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO), helping the bank meet its obligations under Money Laundering Regulations and staying ahead of regulatory changes.
The position offers a hybrid working arrangement: three days in our Basingstoke office and the remaining days from home.
What we are looking for in you...
You should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with experience in a Compliance Advisory or Risk role. Knowledge of financial regulation, especially FCA handbooks (MCOB, BCOBS, CONC, DISP) and Data Protection, is essential.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are crucial, as you will interact with all levels, including Senior Management and ExCo. You should be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of simplifying complex topics. The ability to influence outcomes and balance regulatory risks with business needs is vital.
What’s in it for you…
We offer a competitive salary, a performance bonus (up to 15%), a contributory pension, life assurance, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell additional days, and a paid volunteering day.
Additional benefits include private healthcare, access to TELUS Health EAP, free eye tests, discounted gym memberships, and season ticket travel loans where applicable.
