Position Overview
We are recruiting for an Asphalt Plant Supervisor at our Stancombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant in Bristol. The site is easily accessible from Long Ashton, Nailsea, Portbury, Portishead, Wrington, Langford, Yatton and surrounding areas.
Main Responsibilities
* Operating fixed and mobile plants
* Administrative and compliance duties
* Using computer systems (including Excel and similar platforms)
* Housekeeping tasks and general maintenance assisting the fitting team
* Adhering to Health and Safety policies and encouraging others to do so
* Supervising a team of Operators and Fitters across both the asphalt plant
* Regular weekend working
* Work with other Plant Supervisors to ensure the plant is always running to its expected capacity and in line with the manufacturing and production programme
Ideal Candidate
To be successful, you will have supervisory experience and ideally previous experience working on asphalt plants or in the quarrying industry (full training will be provided if required). You should also:
* Have loading shovel and processing plant operational experience – desirable
* Have knowledge and experience of asphalt production processes
* Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
* Liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels across Tarmac and CRH business units
* Work independently and as part of a team, motivating yourself and your team to achieve site production requirements
* Be IT‑literate – able to use the Microsoft suite of packages and our in-house CRM computer system
* Be flexible in your working approach
* Inspire yourself and your team to progress personally and professionally
