Hands-on experience of calibrating diesel engines for emissions on dyno with emissions targets.
Your responsibilities:
1. Deliver robust requirements and targets on-cycle to programmes.
2. Develop and update system artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards) off-cycle and on-cycle as required.
3. Deliver new functions through statement of capability (SOC) and Feature statement of intent (FSOI) process.
4. Identify, report, and resolve system compatibility issues efficiently.
5. Ensure functions adhere to specified engineering methods, tools, and aids.
6. Support vehicle, domain, and other indirect team members' understanding of the integrated propulsion functions.
7. Chair technical reviews/forums and resolve complex cross-functional issues.
8. Develop methods and conduct technical studies into future technologies.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
1. Relevant experience in developing electrified propulsion systems such as MHEV, PHEV.
2. Proven experience with emission calibration and understanding of regulations.
3. Good understanding of the Gas path chemistry of ICE engines.
4. Knowledge of calibration, sensors, and control.
5. Experience analyzing standard cycles like emission test cycles and solving related issues.
6. Exposure to CAE tools for vehicle, propulsion, and sub-systems.
7. Experience defining test cases and DoE for HIL, PIL, VIL, and vehicle environments.
8. Full UK or equivalent driving licence.
9. Knowledge of 8D issue resolution and data statistics using Six Sigma methods.
10. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
11. Previous experience in emission calibration and powertrain systems engineering.
12. Understanding of MHEV systems and calibration on various test cycles.
13. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
14. Technical curiosity and strong analytical skills.
15. Effective team player with interpersonal skills.
16. CAE experience on vehicle and propulsion subsystems, including Simulink modeling.
17. Experience in emissions, after-treatment, gas-path, base engines, HV systems, torque, and energy arbitration.
