Hillmorton High School is a diverse urban coeducational school situated in the South-West of Christchurch. The school is a fast growing Y7–13 school with dedicated middle and senior schools. We have a roll of around 1400 and with further building works underway, the roll is expected to increase in the next few years. We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning.
Commencing term 1, 2026, we are seeking an enthusiastic, NZ registered teacher to join our Science department. Ability to teach physics (to L3 and Scholarship) will be an advantage.
The Science department works collaboratively in a flexible and responsive learning environment and the successful candidate will be well supported.
The successful applicant will be given additional departmental responsibilities.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the understanding and ability to teach using culturally responsive and relational pedagogy is essential.
The successful applicant must be a NZ registered teacher and be willing to commit to our co-curricular programme also.
Responsibilities
* Join the Science department and teach science to students in Years 7–13; ability to teach physics (to L3 and Scholarship) is an advantage.
* Contribute to a collaborative, flexible learning environment and support the department.
* Take on additional departmental responsibilities as offered.
