The Role
We are seeking a passionate, committed, and experienced SEN Primary School Teacher to join the team and help establish outstanding teaching and learning practices. You will be working with small groups of pupils, delivering a bespoke and differentiated curriculum tailored to their individual learning profiles.
This is a rewarding role for a teacher who thrives on seeing the impact of their work every day, values building strong relationships with pupils, and enjoys working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and individualised lessons for children with SEN
* Use a range of assessment tools to track progress and adapt teaching accordingly
* Work closely with the school's SENCO, therapists, teaching assistants, and outside agencies
* Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
* Support pupils' holistic development, including emotional regulation and social interaction
* Foster positive relationships with families, providing regular updates on progress
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Proven experience teaching children with SEN, preferably in a specialist or inclusive primary setting
* Deep understanding of SEN best practices and the SEND Code of Practice
* Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
* A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to teaching
Desirable
* Experience with strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton
* Knowledge of EHCPs and contributing to annual reviews
* Training in de-escalation or behaviour support approaches (e.g., Team Teach)
