Are you looking for a role where your engineering skills genuinely matter?
This is your chance to work on one of the UK’s most important low-carbon energy sites — right at the heart of the nuclear sector.
Based at Torness Power Station, you’ll be supporting complex Control & Instrumentation projects that keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently. It’s hands-on, technically challenging work with real responsibility.
Whether you already have nuclear experience or you’ve worked in other highly regulated sectors like oil & gas, rail, defence or power generation, this could be your route into nuclear.
You’ll be:
* Leading and supporting C&I engineering projects on site
* Reviewing contractor designs and technical submissions
* Solving technical challenges in a safety-critical environment
* Managing engineering changes and documentation
* Supporting commissioning and testing activities
* Working closely with site teams and stakeholders to deliver projects safely and on time
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders who will support your development.
What we’re looking for
* Chartered Engineer or HNC (or strong equivalent experience)
* Experience delivering projects in regulated industries
* Good understanding of CDM and construction environments
* Comfortable working on site and engaging with contractors
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* SMSTS preferred
* Nuclear or power station experience helpful — but not essential
If you understand safety, compliance and technical delivery, we’re interested in speaking with you.
Why consider nuclear?
The nuclear sector offers something many industries don’t right now — long-term stability, serious engineering challenges, and meaningful impact.
Torness has been generating zero-carbon electricity since 1988, supplying power to over 2 million UK homes. You’ll be helping ensure that continues safely and efficiently.
Alongside that, you’ll benefit from:
* Competitive salary and benefits
* Long-term programmes with sustained investment
* Career progression within nationally significant infrastructure
