We are currently looking for an M&E Estimator for a Tier 1 main contractor who are leaders in the residential, commercial, health care and rail sectors across multiple countries. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased QS or Estimator to join a dynamic reputable main contractor with massive growth opportunities. The successful candidate will be based in their Kent office working on a major rail project.
The Estimator is responsible for ensuring that the estimated cost of a project is prepared correctly, explicitly and consistently which takes into account the methods of construction and all circumstances which may affect the execution of the work on a project within our rail M&E specialist in Kent. Ensure tender documents, addendums, client correspondence etc., are logged on the server and relevant team members are issued with copies. Produce sub-contractor enquiry schedule, obtaining suggestions/feedback from the tender team, procurement department preferred/approved contractor schedules. Issue sub-contract enquiries, including scope of works and attendance schedules (where applicable). Issue materials enquiries
Experience
1. Must have experience within M&E in construction, desirably in the rail sector
2. Must have strong analytical and numeracy skills to accurately evaluate detailed specifications, cost and risk.
3. Must be detail orientated
4. Must have a detailed knowledge of the latest processes, materials, and costs. In addition, they should be familiar with Conquest/Causeway/Coins or similar estimating software.
