Job Description:
* Operate within the policies and guidelines of the YJA as directed by YJA Middle and Senior Management.
* Support and challenge young people (10-17) in or on the fringes of the Criminal Justice System to desist from offending and improve their life chances.
* Undertake assessments, including Youth Justice Agency Assessment, to develop holistic, tailored intervention plans addressing assessed needs, risks, and vulnerabilities.
* Provide high-quality oral and written reports to facilitate speedy justice with Courts and the Public Prosecution Service.
* Participate in case conferences, reviews, and relevant meetings, preparing reports as needed.
* Maintain timely and accurate records according to YJA policies.
* Manage Court Orders, Public Prosecution Service Plans, and voluntary intervention arrangements.
* Conduct Youth Conferences to ensure restorative interventions, considering victims' views.
* Work closely with victims to ensure their views are heard and they are engaged in the process.
* Ensure intervention plans are informed by assessments and conference outcomes, with regular review and evaluation.
* Partner with young people, families, communities, and professionals to support positive behavior change and reduce offending.
* Negotiate interventions with families to address risk areas.
* Establish multi-agency networks to deliver interventions and support young people's reintegration.
* Facilitate Youth Engagement Clinics in partnership with police and prosecution services.
* Deliver Community Resolution Notice programmes for young people referred by police.
* Source and manage appropriate Reparative Activity placements.
* Support training and supervision of volunteers, students, and sessional workers.
* Offer realistic options for those delivering sentences.
* Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, and staff development.
* Perform other duties relevant to the role and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or Youth Work & Community Work.
* Experience working with challenging young people.
* Experience in formal report writing.
* Driving license and access to transportation.
* Warner interview applicable.
Desired Experience:
* Knowledge of working with young people in a justice context.
