Overview
We’re looking for a Commercial Operating System Manager to play a key role in shaping how Commercial works across Screwfix. This role is responsible for embedding our commercial operating system into day-to-day ways of working, ensuring our principles, decision frameworks and governance are applied consistently across categories, channels and fulfilment models.
As we continue to grow across multiple routes to market, this role will act as the integration engine for commercial transformation - helping Commercial operate as one connected system, enabling clearer decisions, faster execution and scalable growth.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you’ll work with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Supply Chain, Digital, Finance and Data to simplify complexity, align teams, and build ways of working that support long-term success.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence how a major retailer makes commercial decisions at scale, bringing structure, clarity and pace to a fast-moving and ambitious environment.
Why this role matters
This role sits at the heart of commercial transformation. You’ll help create the structure that allows the business to grow at pace, operate with clarity, and make confident decisions across an increasingly complex retail environment.
It’s an opportunity to shape how Commercial works - not just what it delivers.
What's in it for you?
1. Discretionary annual bonus up to 20%
2. 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays, 5 of which can be taken flexibly)
3. Hybrid working with up to 2 days working from home
4. Flexible start and end times around core working hours
5. Buy More Holiday - eligible colleagues can boost their holiday allowance by up to one extra week
6. EV Car Scheme in Partnership with Tusker - eligible colleagues can lease a brand-new or pre-loved electric vehicle
7. Up to 14% employer pension contributions
8. Life cover up to 4x your salary
9. Health cash plan and discounted gym memberships (up to 25% savings)
10. 20% discount at Screwfix and B&Q

12. Driving alignment across categories, channels and fulfilment routes to ensure Commercial operates as one system
13. Clarifying decision rights, ownership and trade-offs to enable faster, better decision-making
14. Working with senior stakeholders to challenge, simplify and improve how commercial decisions are made
15. Identifying friction, duplication or inconsistency in current processes and designing better approaches
16. Embedding new ways of working into the business to ensure they are practical, scalable and adopted
17. Supporting commercial transformation by connecting strategy, governance and execution
Qualifications
18. Strong commercial experience within a retail, marketplace, or multi-channel environment, with exposure to multiple fulfilment models or routes to market
19. Experience translating strategy or principles into practical frameworks, ways of working, or governance that teams can apply day to day
20. Proven ability to work across functions and manage complex stakeholder relationships, influencing outcomes without relying on formal authority
21. Demonstrated capability in simplifying complexity, identifying inconsistency or duplication, and designing pragmatic solutions
22. Comfortable operating in ambiguous and evolving environments, bringing structure, clarity, and pace to problem solving
23. Experience supporting or embedding change into business-as-usual operations, rather than running standalone programmes
