Location: Across three care homes (residential, dementia and nursing)
Reporting to: Group Director / Nominated Individual
Salary: From £30,000.00 per annum, plus commission per successful referral/admission
Employment type: Full-time, in person
Role Overview
We are seeking a confident and experienced clinical professional to lead referrals, occupancy and marketing activity across our three care homes. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who understands how care homes operate day-to-day and can speak credibly with families, professionals and commissioners. You will take ownership of new enquiries, manage the referral process from start to finish, carry out pre-admission assessments, and support the homes to maintain safe admissions and strong occupancy levels.
Applicants must have previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Care Home Manager or Registered Nurse within a care home setting, and must be confident completing resident assessments and managing care home referrals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will act as the main lead for enquiries and new placements across the group, ensuring every referral is handled professionally, promptly and safely. You will complete pre-admission assessments for residential, dementia and nursing placements, ensuring suitability, clinical safety, and alignment with the home's staffing and capabilities.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with hospital discharge teams, social workers, local authority placement teams, ICB/CHC professionals and other referral sources. You will work closely with each Registered Manager to monitor occupancy levels, upcoming vacancies and admission planning, and will support with fee discussions where appropriate.
You will also support the group's marketing presence, ensuring each home is promoted accurately and professionally, and that enquiries are converted into viewings and admissions through strong communication and relationship-building.
Essential Experience and Requirements
Candidates must have experience working in a care home environment in a senior role such as Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, or Registered Nurse. You must have direct experience managing care home referrals and completing pre-admission assessments for prospective residents.
You must be confident assessing residents with complex needs, including dementia and nursing requirements, and communicating effectively with families and professionals. You must have a strong understanding of CQC expectations and the importance of safe admissions, risk management and person-centred care.
You must be able to work across multiple services and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience in a multi-site role would be an advantage, as would experience improving occupancy, developing referral networks, or supporting marketing activity in a care setting.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone professional, warm, and credible—someone who can build trust quickly and represent the group confidently. You should be organised, responsive, commercially aware, and able to balance growth with quality and safety.
What We Offer
