Sonic Healthcare UK encompasses the two main entities in the UK, The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) and Health Services Laboratories (HSL). HSL was formed to provide pathology services to the NHS Trusts and has expanded further to provide services to other NHS Trusts. Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)

About the role:

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Biomedical scientist to join the multidisciplinary team at Ross Hall hospital, Glasgow.

Current HCPC registration (or a completed IBMS certificate of competence with pending HCPC registration) is a requirement for this role.

The successful post holder will predominantly have experience in Microbiology and will be expected to be trained in Biochemistry and Haematology. Experience in one or more disciplines will be considered and full training in the other discipline(s) will be provided.

Experience in practical Microbiology is desirable.

We operate the following shift pattern:
Earlies 07.30-15.30 Mon-Fri
Lates 10.30-18.30 Mon-Fri (on-call from 18.30-07.30)
Weekend working on rotation is a requirement of the post.
Participation in the out of hours on call rota will be required for which there is additional payments.
