Job Overview
Electrical Update Engineer - Flamingo, Crewe, Cheshire. Contract, outside IR35, 35 hours per week, on-site.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical lead for scripting, testing and delivering update packs using automated tool Flamingo.
* Attend EE-Change Control Board and CCB, liaise with project teams to generate bespoke test scripts and confirm suitability to baselines and System 42.
* Collaborate with CP-Tool Manager, highlight discrepancies found when using D2C2, generate beta and final update packs for requested project vehicle.
* Identify and create test requirements for each Flamingo Work Package inline with changes (severity).
* Prove out Flamingo updates on allocated fleet vehicles, identify integration dependencies and check compatibility.
* Perform back-end analysis on Flamingo results, oversee resolution of issues preventing roll-out of updates.
* Work with Aftersales, Quality and Version Management to ensure compliance with UNECE regulations related to vehicle updates to baselines.
* Attend ICCB meetings to obtain advance information on new parts, ZDCs and software required in Flamingo.
* Work with test and build support team to understand physical vehicle updates in advance of Flamingo scripts.
* Participate in resolution of ZDC failures using UDS error codes, liaise with engineers to ensure fixes are put in place.
* Provide Flamingo related support and EE recommendations to Durability, Quality, Press & Special, and Aftersales functions when required.
Qualifications
* Understanding of country matrix to assign standard and option PR codes to ECUs within part structure for each project.
* Knowledge of ZDCs, what they do, and how they are structured. Resolve coding errors with users and engineers.
* Full understanding of UNECE 155 and 156 and application to CP TOOL VW Standards for regulatory compliance.
* Proven track record in electrical fault finding and vehicle diagnosis.
* Significant experience in specifying and validating complex integrated vehicle systems.
* Experience with VAG diagnostic tools (CANalyzer/CANoe, Multi-network dataloggers).
* Vehicle configuration tools knowledge.
* German language preferable.
* SFD process understanding.
