MSK Physiotherapy Services at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced physiotherapist to join our friendly and motivated team as Clinical Lead in Women’s Health.
The post-holder must have proven experience of working as a physiotherapist within Women’s Health and will play a key role in helping to shape Women’s Health Physiotherapy services in line with latest guidelines and provide support and training to the wider physiotherapy team. The ability to build relationships with other services involved in the care of patients with women’s health conditions is essential.
We seek an individual with strong clinical leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills and offer support for training and development as required for this post.
Candidates must have previous NHS physiotherapy experience either as an undergraduate or postgraduate to be eligible to apply for this post.
Responsibilities
* Perform highly specialist assessment and treatment of Women’s Health patients in an out‑patient setting to facilitate a smooth, efficient and effective patient pathway.
* Determine clinical diagnosis, develop, deliver, implement, evaluate and modify individualised treatment programmes and/or provide highly specialist advice, ensuring appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.
* Manage own highly specialist caseload and maintain accurate clinical records.
* Establish relationships with other stakeholders and services involved in the care of Women’s Health patients.
* Support and advise the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) on the delivery of the service.
* Educate and train physiotherapists, qualified and non‑qualified healthcare/social services/education staff, including medical staff.
* Work autonomously within Trust policies and standards of professional practice.
* Assist the Team Leader in daily operational management of the Out‑Patient Women’s Health Physiotherapy Team.
* Lead and coordinate effective clinical interventions within Women’s Health and advance clinical practice across the service in line with evidence.
* Apply evidence‑based knowledge and advanced postgraduate learning to practice.
* Act as a resource and provide advice for physiotherapists, other professionals and MDT colleagues regarding assessment, treatment, management and care of patients with physical and psychosocial needs related to women’s health.
* Collaborate with health and social care community, acute colleagues and other MDT members to ensure effective care pathways and transfer of care.
* Facilitate seamless transfer of care and continuing therapeutic management of Women’s Health patients between care settings.
* Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary manner, debating blurred boundaries across professions and taking on appropriate roles.
* Develop specialist programmes of assessment, treatment and intervention for women’s health patients in both acute and outpatient settings.
* Prioritise own clinical workload efficiently and delegate according to training and competency levels of other team members.
* Participate in supervision of staff daily and of students as required.
* Ensure a high standard of patient care, implementing and reviewing clinical standards relevant to the work undertaken.
* Provide highly specialist assessment and advice to the MDT and actively participate in MDT meetings.
* Use local, regional and national networks to share information and good practice.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a physiotherapist within Women’s Health.
* Minimum 30 hours per week considered; up to full time available.
* Previous NHS physiotherapy experience either as an undergraduate or postgraduate.
* Strong clinical leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to train and support physiotherapy team members.
