We are looking for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our team. It will be your responsibility to ensure all breakdowns are responded and resolved in a timely manner. React as first line response to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carrying out repairs effectively. Following routine and condition-based maintenance schedules as generated through our InternalMaintenanceManagement System. Providing accurate and sufficient feedback for the day engineering team through our InternalMaintenanceManagement System. Undertake improvement projects under supervision of the day engineering team as required by the business. Working to a good standard of health and safety in a team working environment. Requirements of the Shift Mechanical Engineer Ability to follow Safe working procedures. Aware of basic risk assessment and able to at point risk assess / identify hazards. Working at heights Isolation and Immobilisation systems Demonstrate a good all-round level of Health, safety and environment awareness specific to the role. Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (ONC level or equivalent) Mechanical experience of industrial systems. Maintenance of Gearboxs and coupling systems Experience in use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, and lifting equipment Fault finding experience on Hydraulic, Pneumatics and water systems. Experience in equipment / spares strip down and rebuild bench fitting / refurbishment work Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems Crane maintenance experience Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting skills Good level of problem-solving awareness Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and work with technical data. Experience of a similar role. Reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns. Demonstrate good housekeeping awareness and standards. Experience of adhering to SWPs, risk assessments, procedures, and permit systems. Team working, worked within a team and / or capable of self-direction.
