Interim Corporate Counsel (5–10 PQE) – Maternity Cover
A global, fast-paced and collaborative events business is seeking an Interim Senior Corporate Counsel to join the team for 9 months from January. This is a broad, hands‑on role supporting corporate development, strategic projects and a wide range of commercial and corporate matters. You’ll be working at the centre of the business, partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple international markets. The ideal candidate brings strong technical corporate/M&A skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to navigate complex issues with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing pragmatic legal advice on global corporate and commercial matters
* Leading on cross-border M&A transactions, including due diligence, negotiation and documentation
* Supporting strategic initiatives and advising senior stakeholders across the business
* Managing external counsel and ensuring effective control of legal spend
* Handling post‑completion matters on M&A deals, including integration and risk remediation
* Assisting with corporate restructurings, rationalisations and general corporate governance
* Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
* Identifying legal risks, ensuring compliance and staying ahead of regulatory developments
* Contributing to process improvement, legal tech adoption and best‑practice governance
