The Cove is a specialist provision within Dunbar Primary School. Children attending The Cove have a range of learning and communication needs related to intellectual disability, autism, and other conditions. We seek an enthusiastic, motivated classroom teacher with a passion for leading learning. Experience working with children with complex needs is essential.
The role involves:
1. Teaching assigned ASN classes with associated planning, assessment, and reporting.
2. Developing the curriculum using Curriculum for Excellence, ELC Curricular Frameworks, and Ed Scot Milestones.
3. Developing IEPs and CSPs in collaboration with other agencies.
4. Assessing and reporting on pupils' progress.
5. Providing guidance to pupils and families.
6. Promoting pupils' health, welfare, and safety.
7. Collaborating with parents, support staff, and agencies.
8. Participating in professional development and school planning.
9. Prioritizing outdoor and active learning.
10. Promoting a total communication environment.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Appropriate primary qualification
GTCS Full registration (General) for permanent posts
GTCS Full or Provisional registration for temporary posts
PVG Membership:
This role is considered regulated work with vulnerable groups, requiring PVG Scheme membership or update prior to employment.
If you have spent over 3 months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check is required.
Pay Arrangements:
If starting after the first day of the school session, salary will be recalculated to reflect leave and pay accrual, with further details provided upon employment.
