An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established CAMHS Learning Disabilities team in the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
You will be working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychiatric input for children and adolescents with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated mental health needs. The service takes a holistic, family-centered approach and values collaborative working with social care, education, and community paediatrics.
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and reviews
* Contribute to MDT care planning and risk management
* Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medication in line with NICE guidance
* Provide leadership and clinical guidance to the team
* Participate in case conferences and safeguarding meetings as appropriate
* Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching if desired
* Full GMC registration with specialist registration in Psychiatry (Learning Disability or CAMHS)
* Section 12 and Approved Clinician status (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience working with children with learning disabilities and complex neurodevelopmental disorders
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (part-time or flexible options may be considered)
* 10 PA’s
