Job overview

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the neonatal team based at The Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

This is an 8 bedded special care unit led by a team of Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

You will be expected t work alongside the nursing team to provide excellent care to our families.

There is an expectation that some cross site working at the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton will take place to meet the needs of the service.

You should be a qualified or near to qualifying nurse associate who is keen to work with families and neonates.

We will offer ongoing training and support for professional development.

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

9. Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the leadership and direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) working within all aspects of the nursing process, providing high quality holistic and person-centred care
to individuals.
10. Support the registered nurse in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care with focus on promoting health and independence.
11. Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the leadership and direction of a registered nurse or other registered care professionals dependent on setting.
12. Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.
13. Be an accountable professional.
14. Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
15. Have the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individual’s defined plan of care, within the parameters of practice of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

16. GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
17. Qualified Nursing Associate o the NMC register or working towards.

Desirable criteria

18. Previous experience of working in an inpatient environment.

Experience

Essential criteria

19. Previous experience working with babies or children.
20. Ability to work as part of a team

Desirable criteria

21. Ability to access computerised data
22. Care planning skills

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

23. Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
24. Excellent communication skills
25. Able to work under own initiative

Professional Registration

Essential criteria

26. Registered nursing associate on the NMC register. Nursing associate foundation degree qualification level 5.
