About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Analyst to join our team, focusing on the seamless settlement of security transactions and asset transfers. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient operations, timely client service, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
* Act as a key point of contact for queries related to transaction platforms and free-moving transactions, escalating and resolving issues as appropriate.
* Generate daily/weekly settlement reports for clients to support effective Management Information (MI) compilation.
* Monitor and review settlement and internal tracking reports to facilitate timely transaction settlements within client portfolios.
* Oversee and ensure the prompt and accurate application of stock to client portfolios.
* Track and investigate failed trades, identifying and resolving potential settlement issues to ensure outstanding transactions on client portfolios are addressed efficiently.
* Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and breaks.
* Maintain accurate status reports for client review, covering ongoing transfer issues, failed trades, and ad-hoc transaction problems.
* Communicate with counterparties (via email and telephone) to obtain updates on outstanding transfers and assets.
* Liaise daily with custodians and corporate clients to resolve any arising issues.
* Ensure all activities adhere to pre-agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Cultivate effective relationships with clients, third-party vendors, and internal platforms to ensure the smooth settlement of security transactions into and out of client portfolios and accounts.
* Respond promptly to client and third-party queries, providing effective resolution and facilitation of issues related to outstanding client transactions.
* Actively participate in internal meetings and, when necessary, with clients in person and over the telephone.
* Continuously seek opportunities to identify and contribute to process improvements.
* Stay current with market conditions, relevant regulations, and internal products/services, aligning these with client business practices through ongoing communication.
* Maintain and update internal systems and data reference points in an agreed format to ensure consistency, facilitate team communication, and uphold data integrity.
* Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards.
* Contribute to the identification, assessment, and control of risks and risk events, maintaining a strong understanding of applicable policies, procedures, and risk appetites. Proactively consider current and potential risks in decision-making and ensure accurate and timely escalation/recording of incidents. Complete all required Risk Management training.
1. What We Need From You:
* Ideally degree educated with solid knowledge of global market securities processing. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., IOC or similar) are highly desirable.
* Proven experience within private banking, investment management, securities processing, or wealth management markets.
* Strong understanding of financial and accounting procedures related to operational transactions.
* Proficient IT skills, including intermediate Excel and experience with databases.
