Qualifications, Training and Experience Required
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
* Prior experience in a similar role in a formal childcare setting, or the desire and ability to progress from Nursery Practitioner to Room Leader/Deputy.
* Sound EYFS knowledge and experience.
* Working knowledge of OFSTED standards.
* Ability to work well in partnership with parents/agencies.
* An ability to organise own work and use initiative.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* People management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a staff team, organise the team’s work and assume responsibility for the same.
* Working knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Provide a safe environment for children.
* Support children’s learning and development.
* Perform daily, weekly and monthly checks around the nursery.
* Help with meal preparation.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with local schools and the community.
* Support children’s behaviour and act as a role model.
* Ensure the environment is stimulating and appropriate, including equal opportunities.
* Assist with the day-to-day general management of the nursery and uphold Policies & Procedures alongside EYFS and statutory guidelines.
* Work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the nursery provides the best possible standards of care and education.
