Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant
Assist with day-to-day planned maintenance tasks across the club, including public areas, bedrooms, kitchens, offices, and back-of-house areas
Carry out basic repairs and maintenance such as painting & decorating, minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building tasks
Support routine inspections of the building, reporting defects or maintenance issues promptly
Assist in maintaining rooms and building systems under supervision
Help with room set-ups, furniture movement, and minor repairs for events and functions
Liaise courteously with staff, members, and contractors, maintaining discretion at all times
Follow health & safety procedures, fire safety requirements, and risk assessments
Complete basic maintenance records and job logs as required
About you
Level 2 Plumbing qualification and be confident in carrying out repairs and installing new components.
Have a basic understanding of heating systems, with a willingness to learn the maintenance of air conditioning systems.
Demonstrate confidence in undertaking a wide range of tasks within a building maintenance role.
Be able to work at height, using platforms or ladders where required.
Possess strong communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors and other building tradespeople
