Part time 21 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic team player to work within the Rotherham 0-19 service supporting work to improve infant feeding standards across the Rotherham Family Hub network. As an integral part of the Rotherham Infant Feeding Team, you will support delivery of the infant feeding programme expectations of the Family Hubs and start for life programme. This rewarding post will provide the opportunity to develop new skills and the chance to influence and shape local infant feeding services.
Applications are welcome from experienced Community Practitioners with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and empower others. You will work closely with multiagency colleagues to provide a range of services to support and promote breastfeeding across the Rotherham Borough. You will have a good understanding of the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly standards and experience of delivering infant feeding support to a high standard.
Main duties of the job
* The post holder will be a role model for high standards in infant feeding support in line with the Baby Friendly standards, ensuring that infant feeding advice and care is based on current evidence, guidelines, and policies.
* Working with the Breastfeeding Strategic lead to plan, implement and evaluate the Unicef UK BFI accreditation process across the Family Hub network.
* Deliver effective infant feeding training to a range of Health and Social Care professionals.
* Participate in the planning, implementation and reporting of clinical audits.
* Improving the quality and consistency of feeding information, advice and support available to Mothers.
* Working collaboratively with multiagency agency partners to develop the breastfeeding peer support service and support volunteers.
* Effectively manage own time and prioritise workload in order to achieve agreed objectives and targets.
