The Role
PURPOSE OF THE POST:
CORE DUTIES:
A teacher must:
* Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils, in line with the National Curriculum and school policies
* Support and monitor the progress and development of a designated group of pupils
* Create a learning environment that allows children to reach their potential
* Contribute to curriculum development, teaching materials, and assessment methods
* Support safeguarding responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
* Teach pupils according to their educational needs, including setting and marking work
* Plan lessons to ensure progression
* Set clear objectives and assessment methods
* Challenge pupils with tasks and high expectations
* Set and communicate learning targets
* Supervise Teaching Assistants
* Assess and record pupil progress
* Liaise with other professionals and external agencies
* Provide a high-quality learning experience
* Use diverse teaching methods
* Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
* Manage pupil behaviour effectively
All teachers are expected to contribute to curriculum development and review, including tasks such as:
* Analyzing pupil standards
* Leading a curriculum area
* Resource management
* Supporting colleagues and quality assurance
