Field Service Engineer/Plant Mechanic – Mobile Role (Midlands)

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a background in plant or heavy machinery maintenance? We’re seeking skilled professionals to join a reputable and expanding team, supporting customers across the Midlands region. This is a mobile role based in or around Birmingham, offering flexibility, responsibility, and ongoing professional development.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing construction plant and equipment for a wide range of clients. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Providing onsite technical support for machinery within the Midlands region
Conducting scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical faults efficiently
Delivering high-quality workmanship in a timely manner
Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
Supervising apprentices when required, ensuring best practices are followed
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer who can demonstrate:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant/Land-Based Mechanical Engineering
OR 10+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience servicing a wide range of heavy tracked plant machinery
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service and communication skills
A valid CPCS card is desirable
