Mechanical Design Engineer - Outside IR35 — Belcan, Castle Donington, England, United Kingdom
Type: Full-Time
The Role
This is a contract role expected to last between 6 – 12 months with the successful candidate designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.
Responsibilities
* Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
* Generate engineering drawings.
* Perform engineering design calculations e.g., tolerance stack-up analysis.
* Prepare engineering design reports.
* Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
* Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering.
* Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
* Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5.
* Proficiency in NX software is essential.
* Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
* Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping and structures is essential.
* Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
